Cinematic Work - SOS KOLKATA

This project exemplifies my ability to capture the essence of a film’s creative process, showcasing the intricate work that goes into character development and visual storytelling. I am privileged to participate in this project with the organisation Second Innings Sports and Entertainment. The Project SOS KOLKATA offers an exclusive behind-the-scenes glimpse into the meticulous preparation of the film’s lead actors—Yash, Nusrat Jahan, Mimi Chakraborty, and Ena Saha—as they embody their respective characters.

ABOUT THE FILM

SOS Kolkata is a Bengali film directed by Anshuman Pratyush. It features an ensemble cast that includes Yash Dasgupta, Nusrat Jahan, Mimi Chakraborty, and Ena Saha. The film follows a team of Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) officers, led by Zakir Ahmed (Yash Dasgupta), as they combat a series of terrorist attacks in Kolkata. The situation escalates when terrorists, seeking to avenge the Mumbai attacks, orchestrate a hostage crisis at a luxury hotel, mirroring real-life events.

My Role in the Film

My key role in the film has been in the promotion. I have directed the shoot behind the scenes of the filming. carefully, with a careful selection of shots, colour grading to match the theme and context of the film using Da Vinci. Editing and finishing with Adobe Premiere Pro.

I’m Rituparna Datta, a creative director focused on video storytelling and brand visualisation, with a strong foundation in digital marketing strategies and visual editing. Over the past few years, my career has been shaped by hands-on experiences that sharpened both my creative instincts and technical skills. I intentionally seek out work that challenges me — enhancing my ability to think critically, collaborate cross-functionally, and deliver emotionally resonant content.

Whether I’m directing a brand video or building a scalable content system, I approach every project with a deep sense of responsibility — crafting solutions that are not only creative but deeply aligned with the needs of the audience, customers, and business goals.

I’ve led visual campaigns for independent films, developed story-driven edits for emerging brands, and grounded my creative practice in a nuanced understanding of digital behaviour, emotional resonance, and aesthetic coherence. My process is intuitive yet structured: I design experiences that feel personal but scale with clarity and intention.

I bring with me a 360° creative toolkit—spanning design, video, content strategy, and digital campaigns. Over time, I’ve developed sharp insights into brand positioning, audience engagement, and multi-platform storytelling. My leadership style combines strategic clarity with creative sensitivity, enabling me to guide teams from ideation to execution while preserving the core essence of a message.

On the technical front, I navigate with ease between AI-driven automation, Python-based workflow systems, data analytics, and marketing infrastructure. I aim to build systems that not only perform but evolve with market intelligence. Academically, I hold an MSc in Digital Marketing from Middlesex University, London, where I deepened my strategic knowledge of consumer behaviour and performance-based marketing. Prior to that, I earned a Master’s in Journalism & Mass Communication from Amity University and a Bachelor’s in English from the University of Calcutta—a background that shapes the narrative sensibility I bring into every piece of work.

Proficient in end-to-end video editing workflows, from raw footage to polished final output. I use Adobe Premiere Pro for multi-layered edits and seamless storytelling, and After Effects for high-impact motion graphics, kinetic typography, logo animations, and visual effects.

I bring static concepts to life through animated visual storytelling. From explainer videos to social media reels and product teasers, I craft storyboard-based flows to plan the structure and emotion of each frame. My process ensures brand cohesion and message clarity while staying adaptable for rapid revisions and feedback cycles.

Balancing colour tones to create mood, emotion, and brand consistency using Lumetri Color tools and advanced LUTs. I use DaVinci for colour grading and Adobe Audition for colour mixing. I also manage basic to intermediate audio mixing: syncing, sound cleaning, adding transitions, and scoring with royalty-free or AI-generated soundscapes.

My focus is always on enhancing the narrative experience through both visuals and audio.

Creating snackable content with virality and conversion in mind. Whether it’s a fashion reel, thought-leadership clip, or motion teaser, I tailor editing speed, style, and CTAs to suit the platform’s psychology (Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube Shorts).

Digital Marketing & Analytics

Being in the video editing and motion graphics business brings in a structure of content calendars for cross-platform engagement, such as Instagram, LinkedIn, blogs, and email. My planning ensures brand tone consistency, strategic frequency, and campaign alignment with product launches or seasonal peaks.

From reels and carousel posts to LinkedIn thought leadership, I align social content with brand goals through competitor benchmarking, audience insights, and strategic CTAs. I emphasise native platform psychology, such as emotional relatability on Instagram versus professional authority on LinkedIn.

I primarily use Photoshop and Illustrator for brand identity, ad creatives, and campaign-level design assets. Whether it’s refining digital illustrations, retouching photos for e-commerce, or crafting infographics for thought-leadership content, my workflow emphasizes both aesthetic clarity and brand alignment.

With hands-on WordPress experience, I manage content updates, SEO-friendly structuring, and plugin integrations for blogs and portfolios. I’m well-versed in back-end basics, Elementor, and adapting themes for brand customization and speed optimization.

Currently expanding into Figma for UI/UX collaboration and product design. I’m focusing on component libraries, design systems, and team commenting workflows to better align marketing with product strategy.
